Time is Almost up to Send in Comments over Medicare Coverage of Seat Elevation Systems

Published in Complex Rehab on March 13, 2023

U.S. Rehab and VGM Government Relations would like to thank members and friends on behalf of the ITEM coalition for submitting comments to advance Medicare coverage of seat elevation systems in power wheelchairs. Medicare is proposing to find these systems to be “primarily medical in nature” and cover them for certain qualifying beneficiaries, and it is up to all of us to secure this decision for wheelchair users.

The comment period is set to go for ONE MORE WEEK! All comments must be in by the end of the day Friday, March 17.

For more information, or if you support this important coverage for power wheelchairs, please visit www.rise4access.org  to share your story and let Medicare know how important it is to have access to this technology. The ITEM coalition has also taken the time to create a list of talking points  to aid you in writing your comment.
