HME News: Providers Navigate Changed Environment

In the early days of the public health emergency, HME providers were focused on taking on discharged patients as hospitals made way for COVID-19 patients. Now, they’re caring for COVID-19 patients themselves, according to a recent HME News article.

Providers, including VGM members, provided insight into what they are seeing happening with patients, and what they are doing to help and navigate the current climate. This includes seeing more patients in their homes, implementing remote work where possible, closing certain locations to the public and ramping up infection control protocols to protect employees and patients, and offering curbside service and outside delivery.
