Working “In” Your Business Instead of “On” Your Business? Reset, Refresh, and Reconnect!

Published in Women's Health on March 03, 2022

As we mark the 2-year anniversary date of when the pandemic started and reflect on what that’s meant for us personally and professionally, there’s a lot to uncover. We could probably spend the better part of a day listing all the things that have changed since March 2020.

For right now, let’s concentrate on how your business has been impacted.

Most likely, you’ve spent a lot more time working ”in” your business rather than working ”on” your business over the past two years.  If you’re wondering what that means, think of it this way:  If you’re working ‘in’ your business, you’re most likely seeing patients, doing fittings, possibly billing – and it’s very likely you’ve spent more of your time working in this capacity than what you did ”pre-COVID.“

If you’re working ”on” your business, you’re spending your time making strategic decisions and managing the business while your employees are completing the day-to-day running of the business.

The majority of EW members we talk to have shared they’re spending a lot more time working ‘in’ the business because the pandemic has left them short-staffed and it’s been a challenge to hire employees.  Others have said they’re looking for opportunities to diversify or expand their business to help protect themselves from any potential future down-turns.

If you find yourself in any of these situations, then the EW Focus Conference is your opportunity to take a step out of the business for a few days and reconnect with your fellow EW members and work ‘on’ the business.  It’s the Reset, Refresh, and Reconnect you’ve been needing!

Some key highlights of Focus 2022:

  • Retail Round Table Workshop
  • Vendor Connections, a speed-dating approach to learning about vendor partners
  • Reconnecting with your peers!
