Emily Harken is the Business Operations Manager for the VGM Government Relations team. Her extensive career at VGM began in 2001 with the Homelink division, where she served as a patient care coordinator. In this role, she coordinated durable medical equipment (DME), orthotics and prosthetics (O&P), urology/ostomy supplies, and complex rehab for workers' compensation patients. She also contributed five years to the Homelink Training and Development team.
In 2013, Emily transitioned to VGM Government Relations, taking on various responsibilities such as organizing travel, arranging congressional meetings for VGM members, and preparing essential documents for these visits. She also served as a valuable resource for Home Medical Equipment (HME) state associations.
Currently, Emily's role encompasses project management, member and vendor engagement, and the optimization of daily operations within the team. She continues to support DME state associations across the country and is an active speaker at state association events, where she educates on legislation and policies impacting the DME industry.
Throughout her tenure at VGM, Emily has been an integral part of several committees, including the ESOP committee and Women in Leadership. Her dedication and expertise have made her a key asset to the organization.
