Emily Harken is the Director of Community Development. Previously, she was the Member Service Representative for Essentially Women and the Director of Operations for VGM Government Relations. Emily’s career at VGM began on the managed care side when she started working for VGM’s Homelink division starting in 2001. During her time there, Emily was a patient care coordinator, where she spent her time coordinating DME, O&P, urology/ostomy supplies, and complex rehab for work comp patients. She also spent five years on the Homelink Training and Development team.

In 2014, she transitioned into her role in VGM Government Relations, where she wore many hats, from assisting her team with travel, to arranging important congressional meetings for VGM members. She planned and prepared necessary documents for congressional visits and served as a resource to the HME state associations.

In 2022, Emily moved to a “dual” role with Essentially Women to support and grow the membership community. As part of her dual role, she continues to be a part of the VGM Government Relations team by maintaining her work with the state associations and the GAP program. 

While at VGM, Emily has served on numerous committees including the ESOP committee and Women in Leadership.
